The data was collected during interviews with key actors and studies of relevant documents. The results relate to the theoretical concepts of coproduction, patient-oriented care, strategic and human rights documents (the Convention on the Human Rights of People with Disabilities). The element of power is described through the typology of Sherry Arnstein's participation ladder. Evidence of interviews indicates elements of tokenism and disadvantages. There is a low (one-person) representation of users in reform bodies, lack of time for discussion in consultative bodies, lack of information and lack of capacity (people, time, resources) for greater development of patient organizations. Climate expertise and security politics: the case of the Czech Republic
Pokorná, Viktória ; Rychnovská, Dagmar (advisor) ; Svitková, Katarína (referee)
This Master's Thesis called "Climate expertise and security politics: the case of the Czech Republic" deals with engagement of climatologists in politics and society. Nowadays, certain actors (politicians, activists, celebrities, etc.) perceive climate change as dangerous threat to humanity, and so, they try to securitize this issue. They endeavor to inform ordinary people and make politicians to adopt extraordinary measures. Among these securitizing actors, we could find several climatologists who can fulfil role of security experts. However, such a trend is not present in the Czech Republic. Czech climatologists are not so active publicly and in politics compared to their foreign colleagues. This Thesis would like to analyze what are structural conditions of this trend. It is focused on various influential elements - society, politics, media and scientific field itself. It is based on concept of co-production that is about mutual relationship between these elements. It shows that society, politics and media are rather discouraging Czech scientists from engagement. However, also scientific community as such is not coherent, but there are several different epistemic communities. This Thesis would also like to connect science with Security Studies, mainly securitization theory and security...
Czechoslovak-Cuban Cinematic Cooperation in the 1960s
Matušková, Magdaléna ; Opatrný, Josef (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Pavel (referee) ; Skřivan, Aleš (referee)
The study analyzes the largely understudied cinematic cooperation between Czechoslovakia and Cuba in the first decade following the Cuban Revolution. It is based mostly on archival documents from the former Central Directorship of Czechoslovak State Film, the ministry of education and culture and the ministry of foreign affairs. Several chapters also draw from oral history, data collected from series of interviews with Cuban technicians and artists who have worked in Cuban cinema since the 1960s as well as Czechoslovak experts who worked at the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Arts and Industries in the 1960s. The Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (CICAI), founded in March 1959 shortly after the triumph of the Revolution, faced a shortage of human and material resources since its inception. The film industry, which had been mostly in the hands of the Americans before 1959, lost much personnel due to mass emigration. Later on, due to the American blockade and embargo, it also lost its most important provider of films, material and equipment. The majority of CICAI's technician and artists were just starting and were lacking in technical knowledge required to make films. Czechoslovak State Film (CSF) offered extensive help to Cuban cinema, especially in the area of developing the...
Introduction to the legal regulation of Czechoslovak film co-productions between 1945-1970
Bednář, Leoš ; Klimeš, Ivan (advisor) ; Czesany Dvořáková, Tereza (referee)
This diploma thesis focuses on the co-production of films in Czechoslovakia from 1945 to 1970. This neglected institute is described and partially analysed on the principle of the three levels of the legal regulation. The first stage are interstate cultural agreements and agreements of cultural cooperation. The most important is the co-production agreement and agreement of cooperation in the area of cinematography with France and Italy concluded in 1968. The second stage consists of the implementation plans and the framework conventions, which extend the provisions of interstate agreements. It is very difficult to trace these plans and conventions in unprocessed archive funds. So the enlisted information are rather fragmentary. The next stage is created by the specific co-production agreements. These agreements are basis for the co-production projects. The last section of the thesis contains several unrealised co-production projects that have not been created because of some political, economic and other disputes.

Coproducing in Opera
Kamenická, Kristýna ; SRSTKA, Jiří (advisor) ; HORČIČKOVÁ, Jana (referee)
The thesis Coproducing in Opera discusses opera productions and opera joint projects that are based on the cooperation between theatres or festivals. While the thesis provides an insight into various issues of contemporary Czech opera scene, it comments on positive impact of the coproduction. For the respective theatres, the coproduction decreases the costs of the production, as well as it broadens the repertory. Yet, the coproduction shows are still quite rare. The thesis describes a process of a creation of such a project in the theatre operated by more than one theatre company; it discusses it's specific management and contractual relationships. The thesis also mentions other types of cooperation, e.g. purchase of the production or lease of the production. The opera coproduction is the future of the Czech opera theatre.
